Event highlights of the 2014/2015 winter season

Lech Zürs am Arlberg, July 2014

There is something for everyone – whether you are a powder snow fan, a cineaste, dancer or music lover, Lech Zürs am Arlberg is once again holding an exciting, ambitious and varied programme of events for its guests in the 2014/2015 winter season.

European Media Summit

4−6 December 2014

Leading media representatives, politicians and intellectuals are looking for alternatives, constructive ideas and solutions on a current topic at the 8th Media Summit in Arlberg.  The Media Summit is the official start to the winter season and takes place on 5 December 2014.

Snow & Safety Conference

4−7 December 2014

After an extremely successful first event in 2011 and a similarly successful repeat in 2013, the third Snow & Safety Conference is taking place in Zürs in 2014. Skiing and snowboarding also require risk-aware and responsible behaviour – particularly away from the prepared pistes. Lech Zürs am Arlberg has a total of 200 km of high Alpine deep powder snow runs and is therefore the ideal location for the Snow & Safety Conference. Participants can obtain information free of charge in a wide variety of presentations, workshops and podium discussions, exchange views with experts, or test the latest products in the outdoor area together with ski guides to hone their awareness of the dangers that exist.

Cineastic Gondolas

13 December 2014

The cross-genre event "Cineastic Gondolas" is taking place for the fourth time in Lech Zürs am Arlberg. A unique mixture of animated films, visual art, space and sound installations, performances, DJs and live acts. For one night the gondolas of the Rüfikopf cable car will turn into a cinema. The snowy mountains will become the projection screen and the top and base stations become the scene for an unprecedented festival event.

Fireworks set to music in Zürs

1 January 2015

We traditionally greet the New Year with a spectacular firework display set to music on the Edelweissplatz square in Zürs – in spectacular choreography, firework effects "dance" with metronomic precision to the music – a very special kind of "ballet". In years past the amazing fireworks spectacular has chosen themes including  Queen (2014), Falco (2013), ABBA (2012), Swinging New Year (2011) – in 2015 the title is "Women of the 80‘s".

The White Ring – The Race

17 January 2015

To celebrate the 50-year anniversary of the ski circuit between Lech and Zürs – the "White Ring – the circuit" – in a fitting way, the first "The White Ring – The Race" was held in 2006 and, since then, it has developed into a unique "cult race" with an attractive supporting programme. With 22 kilometres of ski runs and 5,500 metres of altitude. The course record has been held from the start by Olympic and World Champion, Patrick Ortlieb. FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Beaver Creek

1−15 February 2015

Lech Zürs has been developing its close friendship into a partnership with Beaver Creek (Colorado, USA). On the occasion of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships Lech Zürs is exhibiting during the whole period of the World Championships in the Arlberg House, bringing a piece of Vorarlberg to Colorado. The Arlberg House is a central meeting point for partners, sponsors, sportspersons, VIPs and the media.

Tanzcafé Arlberg

29 March to 12 April 2015

Après ski like it used to be – a nostalgic, musical spring ski event with a whole lot of jazz, soul, rock´n roll and swing. In the ski area, in the cosy atmosphere of selected hotels, on terraces and on the Rüfiplatz square, live bands play free of charge, providing a classy sound and relaxed entertainment. A really amazing retro feeling!

4th Lech Energy Forum

16−17 April 2015

Lech Zürs am Arlberg is once again campaigning on energy issues in 2015.  Under the patronage of EU Energy Commissioner Günther H. Oettinger, the community of Lech invites you to the "4th Lech Energy Forum".  During the two-day symposium with its high quality speakers, representatives of politics, economics and society will discuss topics around the European energy debate.
