INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (March 1, 2014) – The Diamond Peak Draft Master Plan was presented to the community and Board of Trustees for the first time by the SE Group on Feb. 12, 2014.  This document looks at the potential for the future development of Diamond Peak as a year-round community recreational resource.

The Board Retreat will focus on Diamond Peak’s updated Master Plan on Wednesday, March 5th when Kent Sharp from the SE Group will return to review the Master Plan more in detail with the Board. This meeting will be held in the IVGID Boardroom at 893 Southwood Blvd, Incline Village.

The Master Plan serves as a blueprint for future development of multi-season activities at Diamond Peak. Created by the SE Group, it explores opportunities for maximizing the existing winter business while assessing the potential for new summer activities that will generate additional revenue for the resort. The Plan has been broken down into three Phases:

 Phase One

  • Provides new amenities & activities for the community/guests during the summer months
  • Prioritizes revenue-generating activities to produce up-front operating income which would be used to offset the capital costs of subsequent phases

(Activities including but not limited to: hiking/biking trails, canopy tour, alpine coaster, etc.)

 

Phase Two (specific timing for this phase is triggered by cumulative operating income from Phase 1)

  • Prioritizes replacement of the Snowflake Lodge and base area activities
  • Allows for new hospitality-oriented revenue generation

 

Phase Three (anticipated to be funded entirely by cumulative operating income from Phases 1 and 2)

  • Focuses on improvements to the winter operations – a new detachable lift for Lakeview and additional snowmaking

All activities addressed in this Plan are conceptual; more detailed design and study will be needed. There may be cause to move items around while still adhering to the above stated objectives.
