Downhill At Dusk, a new series of après ski parties, has hit Lake Louise Resort. The Friday evening parties start mid-mountain, ski the resort after the lifts shut down, and then finish with a dinner and dance.
Catch the last ride on the Glacier Express to get to the mid-mountain Whitehorn Lodge by 4:30 p.m. Party over hot appetizers, live music, and two beverages while the groomers lay down fresh corduroy on the run down to the base area.
Escorts lead skiers and riders at 6 p.m on the groomed route down to the Sitzmark Lounge, where the cash bar opens and buffet dinner lines out flaming Alberta beef, pasta, salads, and desserts. Live music cranks up, and the dancing starts.
The Downhill At Dusk parties run every Friday night through Mar. 27. You can tack the party on after skiing all day or start your weekend with a bang. (The resort will include the last chair ride up the Glacier Express, so you don't need a lift ticket.)
The après ski party costs $65 CAD for adults and $28 CAD for children. A dinner and dance only package is available for less.
Those needing bus transportation to Lake Louise or Banff hotels can add it on for $5-10. The bus departs at 8:30 p.m., but the party continues for those who stay.
Reservations are required for the Downhill At Dusk parties. Call 403-522-3555 or e-mail info@skilouise.com.
