Leave the holiday cooking to Snowbird Resort this year and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Four of Snowbird’s casual and upscale restaurants will be open for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve dinners, serving up a selection of house specialties and multi-course affairs at Wildflower, the Lodge Bistro, the Aerie Restaurant and the Steak Pit. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling 801-933-2181. Visit Snowbird’s website for holiday menus.
Stick around the resort on Christmas Eve for a torchlight parade and fireworks show from 6-7pm, ending with Santa repelling out of the Tram. A Christmas Eve candlelight service, including a short sermon and caroling, will be held in the Snowbird Center immediately following the fireworks.
As the year comes to an end, consider spending the evening with adventurer-storyteller Aron Ralston, author of Between a Rock and a Hard Place and the subject of the film 127 Hours, during Snowbird’s annual Summit Gala on Dec. 28. Join the guest speaker as he recounts his horrific yet inspiring tale and enjoy an evening of dining, dancing, music and fundraising.
All proceeds benefit the Wasatch Adaptive Sports Program, the Snowbird Sports Education Foundation and the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation. For information on the Summit Gala or tickets to the event, visit Snowbird’s website or call 801-933-2112. Tickets are $250 per person or $2250 for a table of 10.
