Surround yourself with holiday magic at Vail Resort’s Family Holidaze, Dec. 20 – 22. The annual holiday event coincides with the official start of winter and features ice-skating performances by world-champion ice skaters, tree lighting ceremonies, outdoor concerts and plenty more to keep the whole family entertained off the slopes.

On New Year’s Eve, ring in 2014 with Vail’s traditional torchlight ski parade down the mountain, followed by a dazzling fireworks show and a slew of exclusive dinner parties, concerts and celebrations that roll well past midnight.

Highlights during Holidaze and New Years Eve include:

Dec. 20 & 21
5 p.m. – Winter Solstice on Ice at Solaris Plaza Ice Rink
Celebrate the official arrival of winter with world-class figure skaters as they hit the ice for a public performance in the Vail Village. Cost: free

Dec. 22
5 p.m. – Tree Lighting, Slifer Plaza
The evening includes a short holiday program with live entertainment, an appearance by the mayor of Vail and the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree in the Vail Village. Complimentary hot chocolate will be available. Cost: free

Dec. 31
6:15 p.m. – Torchlight Parade & Fireworks, Golden Peak
The Vail Ski and Snowboard School form a glowing train as they carve down Golden Peak and illuminate the approaching new year by torchlight. Spectators can watch the parade at the base of Golden Peak. A fireworks display will immediately follow. Cost: free

9 p.m. – Vail NYE 2014
Legendary Beastie Boys’ Mix Master Mike and special guest DJ Logic will spin beats during a live show for ticketholders at Dobson Arena. Vail’s largest music venue will become the exclusive spot for ringing in the new year. Must be 21+. Cost: $75, general admission
