Snow King Preps For Snowmobile Hill Climb Mar. 26-29

Spring brings on sunshine and the snowmobile hill climb at Snow King. Spring brings on sunshine and the snowmobile hill climb at Snow King.

Engines will rev at the end of March for the 34th annual snowmobile hill climb at Snow King Resort. The big spectator event draws thousands of viewers to watch snowmobiles climb up the resort's steepest slope.

The event, organized by the Jackson Hole Snow Devils, draws acclaimed competitors and snowmobile companies from across North America to vie on Snow King's course with a 1,500-foot vertical rise. Vendors line the base of the slope for the four-day festival Mar. 26-29 that packs town with spectators.

Spectator tickets cost $15 per day or $30 for the entire weekend. Snow King also runs the chairlift to carry spectators up to watch the hill climb from the top. Adult lift tickets cost $10, and junior or senior lift tickets cost $9.

Classes of semi-pros, women, juniors, amateurs, and masters race Thursday and Friday. An evening Freestyle Best Show features X-Games snowmobile riders Friday and Saturday nights at the Rodeo Arena in the Fairgrounds. Saturday and Sunday competitions bring the pros to Snow King. The finals and King of the Mountain runs are held Sunday.

Snow King is open for skiing for the duration of the event. Closing day is scheduled for Mar. 29.
