FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. –Arizona Snowbowl is excited to announce the opening of Agassiz Triple Chairlift on Saturday, December 7 at 9 a.m.!

After a great opening week, a 6 inch storm, Snowbowl anticipates six to 10 more inches of snow Saturday and Sunday, and plans to open even more runs after that. Limited trails serviced by Agassiz Chairlift include Upper Ridge, Lower Volcano, and Log Jam, all on packed, machine-groomed powder.

The mountain operation crew – which includes snowmakers, groomers, patrol and lift department – have worked hard to provide customers with excellent snow conditions on some of the most popular runs off of Agassiz chairlift, and are excited to open up the rest of the mountain in the coming weeks.

“We’re ahead of schedule for opening Agassiz lift, primarily due to snowmaking on the lower part of the mountain and natural snow that has fallen on the upper mountain,” said General Manager J.R. Murray. “We wouldn’t have opened this early without the cold temperatures that allow for excellent snow production.”

Hart Prairie, Sunset and Agassiz lifts and the Little Spruce conveyor will be open seven days per week. Agassiz lodge will be open with limited services until later in the season, and the Hart Prairie Lodge is fully open with all services.

Agassiz Triple Chairlift is 6,450 ft. long with a 2,000 ft. vertical rise and caters to intermediate and advanced skill-level skiers and boarders. When fully open, the runs off of Agassiz chairlift have some of the best bowl and tree riding on the mountain.
