Early snow in eastern British Columbia and Alberta permitted Resorts of the Canadian Rockies to open some of their resorts already. The others are poised to open in early to mid-December. As the ski season takes off, RCR is offering their Rockies Cards on sale in December.

The cards, which cost $89.95 plus GST, are valid for discounts at Fernie, Kicking Horse, Kimberley, and Nakiska. Cardholders get to have three free days on the first, fourth and seventh uses. The card grants discounts on all other days. A direct-to-lift option is available.

At Fernie, cardholders skiing up to Dec. 13, 2013, can get $30 off lift tickets. During the regular season, Dec. 14, 2013, through April 7, 2014, the discount is $15. After April 7, 2014, the discount increases to $30. Cardholders can get $15 off lift tickets at Kicking Horse and Kimberley. At Nakiska, cardholders get $8 off lift tickets.

RCR Rockies Cards are available through Dec. 26, 2013. You can purchase them online or in person at the RCR office in Calgary. Call 800-258-7669 for more information.
