Many North American ski resorts keep their lifts running into April. But Banff is one of those places where skiers and riders grab turns on the snow into May.
Of the three Banff ski areas, Sunshine Village runs the longest season with lifts running daily through May 20. The annual slush cup finishes off the season’s last day with a bang.
Lake Louise operates through May 5. The final weekend features a Monster Energy bash with big air snowboarding with Ruckus in the Rockies. The weekend also includes Bikinis For Breast Cancer and the final closing party — the Mountain Funk Jam.
Mt. Norquay is scheduled to run through April 14. If conditions permit, two bonus weekends may be tacked on the schedule.
To hit the slopes at the Banff ski areas in spring, Ski Big 3 offers lift and lodging packages. Here’s three of their best that are available through April 30:
Ski Big 3 is offering 10 percent off room packages at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel. Rooms start at $161 per person per night. That rate is based on four nights of double occupancy lodging with three days of skiing.
A second package is available at Banff Caribou Lodge. The package offers a fourth night lodging free and fourth day skiing free. Rates start at $109 per person per night.
A third package costs even less. The Mount Royal Hotel has a fourth night lodging free and fourth day skiing free. Rates start at $89 per person per night.
Ski Big 3 also has more lodging packages available. You can view and book them online.
