Northern Minnesota’s Giant’s Ridge ski area is closing for skiing on April 7 in anticipation of opening its two courses for golf soon, and it’s celebrating one of its snowiest seasons in recent years with some great end-of-winter deals.

Last year, this ski area almost due north of Duluth closed on March 18, so this winter is giving skiers and riders an extra three weeks of fun on its 35 runs and two terrain parks, served by seven lifts and tows.

To thank its customers, this week only, from April 1-4, there are a very limited number of rooms starting at just $72.50 per night at its Best Value Lodge condos. That’s 50 percent off the normal spring rate. Sorry, but no linking to other deals is offered.

Right now, lift ticket prices also have been cut. Ski or ride every day through the close of the season for $39 adults, compared with the regular price of $48.

On the season’s final day, that ticket drops to just $10. Rentals drop for both skis and boards from $27 and $32, respectively, also to just $10.
