British Columbia ski resorts have already started to sell 2013-14 season passes. Several resorts are running early spring sales that offer discounts on season passes far below rates during the summer or fall.

Red Mountain Resort launched its season pass sale in mid-March. Those looking to get in on the “early bird” rates need to purchase passes by April 30, 2013. The adult pass is on sale for $729. After the spring sale, the rate increases on the adult pass to $897 until October 1.

Cypress Mountain has also started its season pass sale for 2013-14. The sale runs until April 15. Rates vary by the type of pass: $699 for the adult G8 day and night pass, $349 for the Silver pass with some blackout dates, and $269 for the one night a week pass. New pass purchasers of next year’s passes can hop on the lifts for the remainder of this spring season with next year’s pass.

Grouse Mountain currently has its Y2Play Snowpass on sale. The adult pass costs $359, which is about 80 percent off the regular pass rate. The pass permits unlimited lift access plus discounts on other mountain activities. In addition, it can be used for the remainder of this year’s ski season. The sale ends when the passes are sold out; as of last week, they were 60 percent sold.

Other British Columbia resorts plan to begin sales of 2013-14 season passes this spring. Panorama Mountain Village has its sale slated for April 1-May 15. An adult pass will go for $749.

Whistler Blackcomb plans to announce details about its season pass sale April 1. So hit the resort’s website on that date to get the scoop. Revelstoke also typically starts its spring season pass sale in April.

Sun Peaks Resort has slated its spring sale for May 1-June 30. Sale rates for passes will be announced in April.

For Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, season passes will once again go on sale this spring with the sale usually wrapping up in early June. Passes for 2013-14 will go on sale for Fernie, Kicking Horse, Kimberley, and Nakiska. RCR will also be selling the Rockies Pass, which allows access to all four resorts.

Big White and Silver Star traditionally launch their season pass sale in June. The sales give skiers and snowboarders a chance to buy season passes at the lowest rates usually through mid-October.

Several ski resorts plan on launching season pass sales later this spring or summer with sales ending in the fall. Resorts with Sept. 30 deadlines on their sales usually include Whitewater, Mt. Washington, Mt. Seymour, and Apex Mountain.
