Mt. Bachelor, just outside of Bend, Ore., is a mountain lover’s paradise for its four-season approach to outdoor recreation. As a tribute to the end of one sport and the beginning of another, the resort’s Springtacular Celebration, April 6 through 7, will give spring breakers a taste of as many activities as they can swallow. But in a town that’s notorious for as many blower powder storms in April as it is for high-pressure warm fronts, it’s hard to figure out which season to celebrate. Fortunately, Mt. Bachelor has that covered: free ski and snowboard demos will be offered alongside fly-fishing, mountain bike and road bike demos all weekend long. If you’d rather stick to the snow, try your hand at snowmobile drag racing, dog sledding and skijoring after a few spring turns on the mountain.

With daily operations through May 26, Mt. Bachelor will continue to offer spring-inspired events well after the Springtacular Celebration, including the surf-inspired Gerry Lopez Big Wave Challenge, pond skimming, a beer fest and plenty of live music at the resort’s outdoor snow lounge.
