Chalk it up to the 300 days of sunshine each year or one of the longest ski seasons in North America (it’s not uncommon to shred the slopes on the Fourth of July), but Mammoth Mountain, in central Calif. is notorious for its lineup of spring skiing festivities. From March 16 through April 27, spring breakers will find reprieve in ongoing parties, both on and off the hill. Tear up the trails looking for free swag during the Shred Hunt on March 23, prove your aptitude with a handful of slopestyle competitions or take in a few laughs with the annual pond skim on April 22.

When the lifts close for the day, fall into the après groove with free live music every weekend at many of Mammoth’s 10 ski-in/ski-out bars—not including the late-night beats at the resort’s new Underground Lounge—and daily drink discounts for college students. Even more, students can opt for a $299 college pass, valid every day through the rest of the season, which pays for itself in four days.
