The Pain McShlonkey Classic (PMS) returns to Squaw Valley, California on Saturday, March 30, 2013 and will be an event not to miss. This anti-contest is all about having fun on and off the mountain and celebrating the life of the ski legend, Shane McConkey.

You can expect to see some crazy antics as you watch some of the best skiers in the world race down the mountain on snowblades wearing ridiculous outfits.

PMS is hosted by the Shane McConkey Foundation (SMF) and all proceeds from the event will go toward the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District’s environmental education programs. According to SMF founder, Sherry McConkey, “the mission is to celebrate the life of a man who revolutionized the ski industry and kept us on the edge of our seats with laughter - and in doing so we can support causes that Shane cared about”.

The event will kick off at 9:00 am as the pros and 30 amateurs line up on top of KT-22 for an anything-goes race down GS Bowl. The amateurs are selected by submitting their most embarrassing moment in an online contest.

Later on in the day will be the Extreme Snowblade Small Mountain Invitational through Squaw’s Enchanted Forest followed by the PMS Costume Contest in Squaw’s KT Base Bar where anyone can compete for great prizes.

An after party will take place featuring a surprise performance and prizes for the best 80s garb. The party is 21 and over and tickets can be purchased at and Le Chamois. Tickets are expected to sell out.
