Marmot Basin is one of a handful of ski resorts in Western Canada where you can ski or snowboard until early May. With the long spring ski season, the Alberta resort is offering Western Canadian a way to buy lift tickets in their hometowns in advance.
Snowfall has set the resort up well for its long spring season. An early March storm dumped more than 70 centimeters of snow in one weekend, breaking a two-decade record. The resort’s location in Jasper National Park also means that it can amass snow throughout March and April.
This spring, Marmot is offering skiers and snowboarders a way to bypass the ticket window and the resort and go straight to the chairlift with Express Tickets. Express Tickets are lift tickets that are available off site for purchase in advance. The lift tickets are sold in ski shops and travel offices in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
The Express Tickets can be purchased at select ski and snowboard shops in Alberta. These are located in the towns of Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Whitecourt, Lloydminster, and Leduc. They are also for sale at shops in Battleford and Saskatoon in Saskatchewan.
Marmot Basin has also contracted with the Canadian Motor Association and Alberta Motor Association for their travel offices to carry the Express Tickets. They are sold at 17 offices in Alberta, 12 offices in Saskatchewan, and four offices in Manitoba.
