With spring only weeks away, Midwest resorts like Wisconsin’s Christie Mountain let the fun shine in with special deals and events before its tentative closing date of March 17.
Sunday, March 10, is the season’s final Friends and Family Day at the area north of Eau Claire and east of Rice Lake and the Twin Cities. Lift ticket prices that day are cut $11 to just $20 for adults and to $15 for ages 15 and under. Ski or board rental prices also are trimmed by half at this resort featuring 25 trails (22 lighted) and 350 feet of vertical. Runs are open here Wednesdays through Sundays.
Saturday nights for the remainder of the season, lift tickets from 6-10 p.m. are also only $20, and rentals are just $10.
The deals also apply to Christie’s tubing park which runs every Friday and Saturday. Choose from a slow slide or a white-knuckle bump jump. Two people can fly down its six chutes served by a handle tow for the price of one from 5-10 p.m. Depending on how many hours you want to ride, that’s a $12 to $22 savings.
Season passes for the 2013-14 season are already on sale for $200 until Sept. 30, and allow you to ski or ride the remainder of this season free.
