The second snowiest March on record in parts of northern Michigan has enabled Gaylord’s Treetops Resort  to extend its season by a projected three-plus weeks for the first time in years, and it’s offering special deals to celebrate.

Located just east of I-75, Treetops’ 23 runs have traditionally closed for the season in early March. However, thanks to this winter’s big snow, they’ll be hosting skiers and riders at least through March 24, weather permitting.

First, the important stuff: ski or ride Treetops each day the area is open (Fridays through Sundays) for just $19, compared with the normal weekend price of $39, and the weekday price of $29. Kids aged 8 and under ride or ski free.

On March 15-17, ticket holders can also stop by to see the Race The Face snowmobile races taking place on property. On Friday, March 22, take to the slopes from 2-9 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, March 24, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

The resort’s extreme tubing hill also will be open each weekend.

As a bonus, anyone holding a season pass from any other Michigan ski resort can ski here free. Just stop by, show your pass and pick up your ticket.
