The annual OnTheSnow Ski Test (presented by Cadillac, Leki, Casio and anon. Optics) continued from Snowbird, UT yesterday, and ski manufacturers from all over the country were back with their selection of All-Mountain skis ready to be put to the test. Armada, Atomic, Black Diamond, Blizzard, Dynastar, Elan, Faction, Fischer, Head, Kästle, K2, Line, Nordica, Rossignol, Salomon, Scott and Völkl returned for Day 2, and the conditions were perfect for all-mountain skis, two days out from the most recent snow storm.

The Ski Test Home Base was again situated at the bottom of the Gadzoom Chair, but many skiers were able to explore most of Snowbird, from the Little Cloud Chair to the Upper Cirque Area, allowing the all-mountain skis to be skied like they were meant to be skied. With pockets of snow still hiding around the mountain, and the majority of zones consisting of packed powder and crud, skis like the Kästle FX-94, Head Venturi 95, and Salomon Quest 98 were perfect for the conditions. Our testers reviewed 31 skis overall, with varying responses to each ski. Our last day at Snowbird will be "Frontside Friday," and skiers will test the best frontside carving skis that the manufacturers have to offer.
