Snow has been plentiful at Winter Park this season so it is hard to think about it ending. “Winter Park has enjoyed snow in 20 of the last 28 days, racking up a total of 55 inches in the month of February. With March typically being our snowiest month of the season, we’re anticipating amazing conditions through the rest of the 2012-13 season.” That’s according to Winter Park Communications Manager Steve Hurlbert.
Springtopia is April 20-21, which is the last weekend of the season for Winter Park. It features the Spring Splash and headline acts.
“Winter Park has always been known as a destination for spectacular spring skiing and Springtopia will amp up the fun with two world-class musical acts. With the added element of free, live music, Winter Park Resort’s last weekend of the 2012-13 season will truly be a celebration not to be missed.”
Highlighting Springtopia will be two free concerts at the Winter Park base, featuring Julian Marley and the Uprising, as well as Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe.
It is the 45th year for the Spring Splash, which begins at noon on Sunday, April 21. The base is the place to be as spectators watch skiers and riders struggle through obstacles on the Larry Sale trail race course and then try to skim across an icy pond.
