Stay on the slopes even longer at Snowmass as springtime hits the Rockies. The Elk Camp Gondola and chairlift will stay open every Friday in March until 6 p.m. for skiing and riding. Both chairs will run continuously and all terrain accessed by these chairs will be open with the exception of Burnt Mountain, Longshot, and to the base of Two Creeks.

Sunset skiing is happening at the same time as Ullr Nights at Elk Camp. Head over to the Elk Camp deck starting at 2:30 on Fridays for music from a DJ and an outside BBQ and bar. The Elk Camp deck will stay open until 5:30. Ski down before then, or download the gondola after 6 p.m.

More Friday fun is the Bud Light Big Air Fridays on Fanny Hill in Snowmass, every Friday in March as well as April 5. It’s a 45-minute jam session that starts at 2 p.m. The hottest freeride stars in the area, both skiers and boarders, launch from the big jump on Fanny Hill. Judges pick four skiers and four riders to continue on to the finals. The finalists get one big jump and a winner is chosen.

“We are really excited to bring back Bud Light Big Air Fridays for its eleventh year,” Said Cat Leonaitis, Event Marketing with Aspen Skiing Company. “It’s great to see the progression of the event and the caliber of riding we see each week.”

There’s also a Little Air competition for kids of all ages to compete for giveaways on the mini-jump, just after Big Air Fridays.

Registration for Big Air Fridays is open to the public starting at 1 p.m. on Fridays and it costs $20. Look for the tent at the base of the big air jump. You must be at least 13 years old to compete. And you’ll need a helmet.
