The annual OnTheSnow Ski Test (presented by Cadillac, Leki, Casio and anon. Optics) invaded Snowbird, UT yesterday, with ski manufacturers from all over the country on hand with a selection of Powder/Big Mountain skis ready to be tested. Armada, Atomic, Black Diamond, Blizzard, Dynastar, Elan, Faction, Fischer, Head, Kästle, K2, Line, Nordica, Rossignol, Salomon, Scott and Völkl brought their latest and greatest powder/big mountain skis, on what would turn out to be a perfect day for testing. Over 11 inches of snow had fallen during the course of 24 hours, and there were plenty of powder stashes to be had across Snowbird. OnTheSnow had a great group of testers on hand, from notable faces like Caroline Gleich and Erik Schlopy to ski instructors, to Utah locals and our group of Editors.

The Ski Test Home Base was located at the bottom of the Gadzoom Chair, where skiers had access to a huge amount of terrain, including laps on the Little Cloud Chair, and even a venture over to Snowbird's Aerial Tram. Our group of skiers put skis like the behemoth Black Diamond Megawatt, fan favorite Armada JJ, versatile Blizzard Gunsmoke, and the flashy Line Sick Day through the ringer, to get the real feel for how they would ski over the course of a season. Needless to say, our testers were impressed with most. Thursday, testers will be skiing on the best All-Mountain skis that the manufacturers have to offer, in the mean time check out our short photo gallery to recap Day 1 from Snowbird...
