Taos Ski Valley has joined forces with K2 and Studio Karina to host a collaborative celebration of two fundraising events on Sat., Feb. 23. The events will benefit Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC), a youth-focused non-profit that educates men and women about breast cancer, the importance of early detection and the value of an active lifestyle; and the Anita Salas Memorial Fund, a non-profit that provides financial assistance for breast cancer services in New Mexico.

The day kicks off at 10 a.m. with the second annual K2 Bumps Challenge, pitting racers against each other in a marathon down the infamous Al’s Run, one of Taos’ most popular mogul runs. Teams of two or solo skiers and snowboarders are asked to raise a minimum of $100 to participate before racking up as many laps on Al’s Run in a four-hour period. Two-person teams will compete based on a relay format, passing a bra to the next skier/snowboarder after each run. To register for the K2 Bumps Challenge, click here.

After the event, head to the Martini Tree Bar for the unveiling of the Paint for Peaks art exhibit and auction. In its fourth year, the Paint for Peaks snowboard art auction will sell off custom artwork created on snowboards by nearly two dozen local and regional artists. All proceeds from the art auction will go directly to the two featured non-profits: B4BC and the Anita Salas Memorial Fund. Visit Paint for Peak’s website for more info.
