Families headed to Alberta’s Marmot Basin this spring can purchase a card that grants discounts. The Jasper-Marmot Family Card is one way to save a little money on ski and snowboard vacations.

Jasper-Marmot Family Cards cost $70. They can be used for discounts on a variety of services at Marmot Basin ski area and participating merchants in Jasper through Oct. 31, 2013.

The card can be used by any of the family members. That includes parents and their dependent children and students. For families who ski several days, the card can tally up its value fast.

The card grants discounts on a variety of Marmot Basin services. Families can get 20 percent off lift tickets when purchased at the ski area. That alone saves $16 on each parent’s lift tickets, reducing the lift ticket rate to $64. Discounts on lift tickets for kids vary between $6-13, depending on age. If families ski five days on the card, the sixth day of lift tickets is free.

Other discounts at Marmot Basin can outfit the family with rental gear. With the 10 percent off rental gear, families can save $3-4 per person. Ten percent discounts are also available on food, drink, snowboard lessons, and childcare at the ski area.

The Jasper-Marmot Family Cards are available through the Marmot Basin Sales Centre in Jasper. They are also sold at Freson Brothers IGA stores in a variety of locations in Alberta.
