Here’s something that doesn’t come along too often: two years of skiing and riding if you buy now through March.

That’s one of the deals being offered at Minnesota’s Welch Village in anticipation of the resort’s 50th anniversary next season that will gain holders more than $100 in savings. Current passholders can purchase this special “golden ticket” through March 31 for $249 (or $299 for non-passholders).

Ski or snowboard all the rest of this season, plus the next two seasons, to spring, 2015. Come here just five times over that period and you've paid for it compared to the normal rate.

There are other deals for one-year passes as well, but since this one gets you nearly three years of fun on the snow, it’s a no-brainer if you frequently visit this resort between the Twin Cities and Rochester, Minn.

That pass also entitles members to up to five lift tickets at $35 each before 4 p.m., or $30 after 4, a savings of $14 and $7 each, respectively, over the normal walk-in price. Renters also get a $5 discount. Members must be present with each person to claim the deal.

Here’s another bennie: ski and snowboard for FREE at Wyoming’s Grand Targhee Resort, when lodging two or more nights at non-discounted rates during the 2012-13 season. Call toll-free 1-800-TARGHEE (827-4433). Mention that you are a season passholder at Welch Village at the time of booking.

Still other deals are online at Welch. Like the everyday online ticket at $39, compared to the $49 walk-in price, and its Feb. 24 Family Festival Day. For only $59 each, family members receive an all-day lift ticket, ski or snowboard equipment, a beginner lesson, and a $5 coupon good for food/beverage in the Lookout Café, a $109 deal.

If you don’t ski here, here’s what you’re missing: 60 runs with a three-year-old back bowl, 10 lifts including four quads and 375 vertical of fun off U.S. Highway 52. New this year includes a revamped clothing shop and new tuning gear.

Other fun this year includes the March 16 “pond skip” day open to anyone, the spring new equipment sale Feb. 23-24.
