This week has been sunny and mild along much of the West Coast, especially California. By this weekend the Sierra will be seeing sunny skies and temperatures up into the 50’s.

Further North in Washington the Cascades have been having one of the best Winters compared to other regions of the country and will see another storm on Sunday. It is still not clear on exactly how much snow will fall but at least several inches if not more.

As we go into next week the pattern begins to change as a cold trough will park itself along the West Coast. That will bring lots of cold air from the Cascades down to the Sierras by Tuesday and snowfall.

The first system will move through on Tuesday bringing several inches of snow to all locations. That will be followed by another system on Thursday. These are not big storms but they are cold and this will be a big change to the pattern for California after several weeks of dry weather.

The pattern looks like it could continue into week 2, so get those skis waxed - we still have a second half of winter ahead.
