Burton and Seven Springs Debut New Pirates Riglet Park, Feb 8.

Whether you ski or ride, when you think Burton, you think snowboarding. You might also think industry leader, pinoeer, progression, Shaun White, sweet graphics and fresh outerwear. All of the above are correct. But over the last decade especially, the name Burton has gained a younger audience's recognition through their development of the Riglet Park learning centers and LTR (learn to ride) boards found in the rental fleets at most major resorts. Several of these Riglet Parks, which feature specially-designed terrain, entry-level freestyle features and specially-trained instructors have popped up througout the country, many with fun themes like the Star Wars Riglet Park at Northstar, CA or the Toy Story Riglet Park at Jay Peak, VT. This Friday, February 8, Seven Springs Mountain Resort in partnership with Burton Snowboards will hold the grand opening of the Pirates Riglet Park. 

The introductory terrain park, designed for children ages 4-7, features is themed after the Pittsburgh Pirates MLB team and provides the feel of a real ballpark. The park will offer little riders a diverse selection of fun features like a cone zone where the kids will learn to weave in and out while being towed by their coaches, a giant-sized first base, oversized baseball bats for jibs, a dugout for an on-snow chill-out zone, a t-ball area for kids to hit snowballs off the tee and a home plate fort.

Opening day ceremonies will include:
4:00 PM - Welcome by Pirates Announcer Tim Neverett
4:05 PM - Introduction of the Somerset Little League Team
4:10 PM - Pirate Parrot Introduction/Former Player Introduction
4:15 PM - National Anthem
4:20 PM - Ceremonial First Pitch
4:25 PM - PLAY BALL! - Kids and Riglet Intructors hit the park
