Those yearning for greener travel to the slopes can now hop on the Crystal Mountain Snow Bus. From several western Washington locations, the Snow Bus drops skiers and snowboarders off at Crystal Mountain Resort ready to roll with lift ticket in hand.

The Snow Bus runs to Crystal Mountain on Saturdays, Sundays, and big holidays all winter, including President’s Day. Operated by MTR Western, the buses pick up riders in the Greater Seattle-Tacoma area starting about 6:30 a.m. and arrive at Crystal around 9 a.m. Buses depart for the return trip at 4 p.m.

The Snow Bus lift ticket package combines a round trip fare with a lift ticket valid for all chairs and the gondola at Crystal. Rates run $81 for adults, $76 for youth, $71 for seniors, and $40 for children.

The combo package gives skiers a bit of a break on both the lift ticket rate and transportation. An adult lift ticket for all chairs and the gondola costs $74 at the ticket window. Transportation without a lift ticket costs $35.

Riders on the Crystal Mountain Snow Bus get three major benefits. They can relax while the driver manages the road and conditions. Riders get dropped off and picked up in the front row of the parking lot. Since lift tickets are presented on the bus, skiers can go straight to the lifts, foregoing ticket window lines.

So where can you catch the nearest bus to you? The Seattle-area bus stops for pick ups in Greenlake, Downtown Seattle, Bellevue, and Auburn. The Tacoma-area bus picks up skiers in Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Puyallup, and Enumclaw.

Children younger than 13 years old must be with an adult, and teens must have a signed parental consent form. The form is available online.

Riders can just show up to walk on the bus, but a spot may not be available. Making reservations ensures a seat. Spaces are available for rides through March 31, 2013.
