It’s common knowledge that the actual football game on Super Bowl Sunday is just an afterthought. The real stars of this sporting event are the tailgating, drinks and food. In the ski and snowboard world, the entire event is nothing more than a giant après ski event. And with kickoff beginning at 4 p.m. – also widely known as “last chair” – it’s fitting that this year’s Super Bowl party is taking to the slopes.

Ski or ride your heart out on Feb. 3 and join the posse at 4 p.m. at Snowbasin resort for all the savory football goodies you can handle. The resort’s Cinnabar Lounge at the glitzy Earl Lounge will play host to Super Bowl Sunday for $15 per person, which includes an all-you-can-eat buffet of some of tailgating’s favorite finger foods (think wings, wraps, sliders and potato skins). It’s Snowbasin’s first stab at a Super Bowl Sunday tradition, but you can expect the same top-notch service and first-class grub.

Of course, the event wouldn’t be complete without a few 65-inch hi-def televisions if you’re intent on watching the game, and an ongoing group trivia game (complete with shwag and prizes) might just keep you entertained between play-by-play commentary.

Unlike many of Snowbasin’s dining events, reservations are not required. Call 801-620-1921 for more info.
