Check the forecast and then hit the powder on Aspen Mountain with a First Tracks Breakfast. Hop on the gondola before it opens to the public, and have breakfast up top at the Sundeck Restaurant.
“While eating dishes like buttermilk pancakes and hearty breakfast burritos, guests can also chat with Aspen Mountain insiders, share ski tips, or even learn the location of those secret powder stashes,” said Tracy Duhe, Sundeck general manager. “Then those guests get to be the first ones to hit the slopes.”
First Tracks Breakfast is limited to 80 guests. Tickets have to be purchased the day before, by 4:30 p.m. A ticket is $25 for First Tracks, and guests must also have a valid lift ticket. Foot passes with breakfast for non-skiers are available for $35.
Another morning option is free Yoga for Skiers at 9:30 a.m., on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Yoga for Skiers is inside the Sundeck. Mats are provided, but guests must have a valid lift pass to upload the gondola.
Look for The Oasis on the slopes of Aspen Mountain in mid-February. The Little Nell’s mobile Champagne Bar will be in secret locations on the slopes. The bar serves up glasses and bottles of Veuve Clicquot as well as caviar. It is easy to spot with umbrellas, lounge chairs, a solar-powered sound system, and flags. The secret location will be shared each week via Twitter from @TheLittleNell.
The final addition of fun is Party Under The Stars at The Sundeck. Dates are Feb. 16, March 1, and March 15. The special evenings include dinner and drink specials, live music and dancing. Tickets are $5 for season passholders and kids ages 4-12, and $10 for those who don’t have a season pass. Kids 3 and under are free. Upload the gondola from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The last download is at 9:30 p.m.
