Angel Fire Resort in New Mexico rolls out the red carpet for Texas crowds this weekend with the return of the ninth annual Big Ol’ Texas Weekend, Jan. 25-27.
The weekend comes fully loaded with activities including lift ticket deals, lodging deals, dinner specials, live music, free Texas Hold’em tournaments and plenty of good, ol’ line dancing.
Texas residents with a valid ID will receive $12 off adult lift tickets, $6 of teen tickets and $3 off junior tickets from Jan. 25-27. Additionally, all lodging at Angel Fire is 10 percent off all weekend, as well as nightly specials at the Elements Restaurant at the Country Club on Friday and Saturday nights.

Friday, Jan. 25
5-8 p.m. DJ Mike at the Village Haus
5-8 p.m. Kevin Herig performs live at Legends Grill
6 p.m. Free Texas Hold’em tournament registration
7 p.m. Texas Hold’em tournament begins, with prizes from The Big Texan and Angel Fire Resort
Saturday, Jan. 26
12 p.m. The Big Texan 72 oz Steak Challenge (pre-registration required)
2 p.m. Big Ol’ Texas Style Stampede, with prizes for the best combo of sliding skills and stylish costumes
4 p.m. Free Big Ol’ Texas Snow Slide Line Dance
5-8 p.m. Jimmy Stadler Band performs at the Village Haus
5-8 p.m. Buss Tapes performs live at Legends Grill
7-11 p.m. Boot Scootin’ Barn Dance & BBQ at the Angel Fire Community Center; $25 adults, $15 youth (ages 7-18), free for children (ages 6 and under)
