What could be better than starting off the week with some skiing or riding? How about doing it for dirt cheap. Maryland's only ski resort, Wisp, has offically named Monday "Deal Day" as of Jan. 7, 2013 where skiers and riders can get on the slopes to improve their skills for just $29 bucks. Price includes an all-day lift ticket (9am - 5pm), Sport Ski or Snowboard Rental & 60-minute clinic. Available while rentals and clinics last, valid through closing day of the 2012/13 season (excluding Monday, Jan. 21 and Feb. 18, 2013).
Standard midweek lift tickets options are only good morning (9am-1pm) or twilight (1pm to 9am). Deal Day provides an extra four hours of slope time so guests can enjoy a full day and still get home at a reasonable dinner hour.
Wisp's January Learn-to special – a learn to ski or ride program Monday-Friday for $49 – is available to first-time skiers and riders. The package includes a lift ticket, rental equipment and a group lessons. Minimum age is 8 years old. But like all Learn-to specials around the country, this deal expires at the end of the month. Once beginners get the basics under their belts, "Deal Day" is there to help them continue practicing their turns, improving their technique and enjoying winter to the fullest.
