As you've probably heard by now, January is the official Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month. The Pennsylvania Ski Areas Associations (PSAA) and several ski resorts in the Keystone State are teaming up to offer specials designed to get first-timers on the hill and convert them to life-timers, by helping to make the first step onto snow a little bit more affordable. For the entire month, the 22 member resorts of the Pennsylvania Ski Areas Association will offer a $5 discount on already low midweek “Learn A Snow Sport” packages. These special tickets include a first ski lesson, rental equipment, either skis or a snowboard and a lift ticket for use on any of the beginner areas.

“We’re thrilled that our ski areas have united to offer an affordable "Learn to Ski and Snowbaord" program that will open the door to the wonderful world of skiing for many winter enthusiasts, throughout the entire season.” says Pennsylvania Ski Areas Associations director Linda Irvin.

Some resorts have opted to discount the "first-timer" experience even further, creating their own special Learn to Ski and Snowboard, and Bring a Friend offers. Here's a list of resorts offering the biggest deals to beginners this January.
