January’s Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month has descended upon Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort, providing great perks to anyone interested in strapping on a plank or two and sliding down the hill.

Start off your skiing or snowboarding career with the 1-Day Basic Beginner Package for $79. This intro package includes a full-day ski/snowboard group lesson, basic rental equipment and a beginner lift ticket.

More intrepid novices can go for the 2-Day Basic Beginner Package for $149. The package includes all of the above perks, but for two full days of on-hill adventures.

For those who just don’t want to leave the powder paradise, pair the 2-Day Basic Beginner Package with lodging, starting at $189 per person. The package includes the above lessons, rentals and lift tickets for two days, as well as two nights of lodging (based on quad-occupancy) in the Lodge at Tamarron.

And let’s face it – it’s easy to get hooked on this sport, which is why Purgatory has made it more affordable to return to the mountain whenever you want. After graduating from any of the above intro packages, participants will receive a free discount card that serves up deals on lift tickets, rentals and lessons throughout the end of the season on March 31. Perks include:
