The New Year is a big one for Loveland Ski Area, as the resort celebrates 75 years of skiing and snowboarding. Loveland fired up the chairlift and skiing started on the slopes back in 1937. It is the second oldest ski area in Colorado. There will be plenty of celebrations this season.

Full-day, adult lift tickets are $37 for the weekend of Jan. 12-13. Group lesson packages for those ages six and over are available for $75.  Guests also can enjoy free birthday cake, hot chocolate and coffee that weekend. All season pass holders get a free lunch. The fun is topped off with an après ski party with live music and drink specials. The drink specials include Tommyknocker’s 75th Anniversary brew. It’s the Pine Bough Pale Ale, brewed with pine needles handpicked from the slopes of Loveland to celebrate the historic season.

“Loveland Ski Area has come a long way since 1937 and we want to thank our customers for supporting us through the years," said Rob Goodell, Director of Business Operations.  "For 75 years Loveland has been all about the skiing and riding experience and that will continue to be our focus for the next 75 years.  We look forward to celebrating this historic milestone with our guests this season and invite everyone to come experience all that Loveland has to offer as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary season."

Loveland’s Marketing Director, John Sellers, says guests and employees are excited. “Many people didn’t realize how long Loveland has been around so there has been a lot of interest in this anniversary season from our employees and guests.  Everyone gets such a kick out of looking at our historic photos and videos before the highway and tunnel were built.  A lot has changed in the past 75 years, but Loveland is still here offering great Colorado skiing and snowboarding at an affordable price.  Here’s to another 75 years!”

Prizes and freebies will be given throughout the season, too, mainly on weekends and holidays. These giveaways will be themed around the 75th anniversary. Prizes include lift tickets, lunch, season passes, gear, lessons, and more.
