Utah resorts are planning on a number of celebrations this New Year’s Eve, including festive food, fireworks, music, dancing, games, and more.

Alta – Partake in Alta’s annual New Year’s Eve torchlight parade and light up the start of your new year. Participants will ski with torches from the Watson Shelter and must be at least an intermediate, blue-run skier. Spectators can catch a peek of the parade, which starts at 6 p.m., from the Goldminers Daughter or along Highway 210. However you enjoy it, be sure to bring non-perishable foods for a donation to the Utah Food Bank.

Brian Head – Celebrate the New Year at Brian Head Resort with a torchlight parade and fireworks at the Giant Steps Lodge at dusk. A party follows at 8 p.m. and will include food, music, dancing, games and party favors. For more info, call Brian Head Resort at 866-930-1010.

Canyons – Kick off New Year’s Eve at Canyons Resort at 3 p.m. when Murdock the Moose will be roaming the village and enjoying free activities that are open to the public, like a rail jam, music, balloon animals, games and magic. Following the village activities, a New Year’s Eve family dinner or horse-drawn sleigh rides are available. A free fireworks show will start at 7:30 p.m., followed by Canyons’ annual NYE Black and White Ball until 1 a.m. Tickets are required for the ball, and pre-registration is necessary for the free rail jam. For more information on the evening, click here or call 435-615-3449 to register for the rail jam.

Deer Valley – Enjoy Deer Valley’s torchlight parade on Dec. 30 at approximately 6 p.m. (dusk). Complimentary hot cider and cookies will be served on the Snow Park Plaza as skiers make their way down the Big Stick ski run. For more info, call 435-649-1000.

Snowbird – Head to Snowbird’s Plaza Deck and catch the resort’s annual New Year’s Eve torchlight parade and fireworks show at approximately 6 p.m. (dusk).
