Snow Summit will host its annual torchlight parade on New Year's Eve starting at 7 p.m. The event is one of Big Bear’s signature holiday attractions and will showcase around 250 skiers making their way down Miracle Mile run at Snow Summit. The skiers carry torches and dress in eccentric holiday costumes. The weaving of skiers creates a spectacular light show that can be seen from a variety of locations around Big Bear.

This free event is a perfect way to close out of a fun day on the slopes for the whole family.

Big Bear Lake has a variety of other recreational activities to close out of the year, such as night-session skiing at Snow Summit until 9:30 p.m and inner tubing at Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain. There will be a variety of other festive celebrations including holiday specials and live music around town including Nottinghams, Wyatt's and Wolf Creek Resort.

After the parade ends, celebrations will continue at both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. Bear Mountain’s event will begin at 9 p.m and end at 1 a.m, and they will host DJs playing modern rock and hip-hop. Snow Summit’s event will have a DJ spinning high-energy music from 8 p.m until 1 a.m. Both events cost $35 admission and include appetizers. The New Years Eve celebrations are for ages 21 and over.
