The Holidays in South Lake Tahoe will be a Winter Wonderland with the weather forecast calling for more than four feet of new snow, as well as the 13 days of holiday events at Heavenly Mountain Resort. The events will take place from Dec. 19-31 with an array of activities in the Village.

Heavenly currently has 1,100 acres open across California and Nevada with terrain for all abilities, including double black diamond skiing in Mott Canyon. The mountain has received several feet of snow in the past week and with the incoming snow this weekend, Heavenly has some of the best conditions around the lake. 

Santa’s Workshop Snow Globe – December 19-24, 2:00-7:00 p.m.

Kids have the opportunity to meet Santa, have their photos taken with him and give him their wish lists in Santa’s Workshop Snow Globe, a 16-foot interactive snow globe. The on-site disc jockey will add to the holiday spirit by playing holiday music.

The Great Basin Carolers will perform from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 23 and 24 as well.

Ice Skating Show – December 28-30, 7:30-8:00 p.m.

Professional former Olympic ice skaters will put on a 30-minute Ice Spectacular Ice Skating Show. Each night there will be a different show and on the 30th, they will perform the Grand Finale.

Ice Sculpting Exhibition – December 28-30

An Ice Sculpting Exhibition will take place in the Village daily and each piece of art will be lit and displayed through the Village. In the evening, “Fear No Ice” will perform a thrilling show next to the ice rink.

Ripperoo Parades – December 15-April 6

Every Saturday throughout the season kids have the opportunity to join a parade where they will play music, sing songs and march through the Village with Heavenly’s mascot, Ripperoo. The parade begins at 4:30 p.m. at the base of the Gondola and at the end kids can enjoy taking photos with Ripperoo and drink hot cocoa.

A Heavenly New Year – December 31, 6:00-9:00 p.m.

The Holiday event series will conclude with a jam packed New Year celebration including interactive games such as snowboard simulators, one-of-a-kind photo opportunities, face and body painting from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The Village will be filled with music, lights, pyrotechnic effects and excitement. Guests can check out the “Fear No Ice – Rock N Roll Show” next to the rink. “LA Allstars” will also be performing, and a glowing gondola will “drop” at 9:00 p.m., marking the East Coast New Year. The event will conclude with a spectacular firework show from the Gondola parking garage.
