Got a friend who's never been exposed to the awesome power of sliding on snow? Maybe you've always wanted to learn, but lacked the necessary equipment and didn't want to shell out the cash. We understand. It's an expensive sport to break into. But if ever there were a time to try it out, January is it. 

In celebration of National Learn to Ski or Snowboard Month, the Vermont Ski Area's Association is helping aspiring skiers and riders to get on the slopes and get their snow legs for dirt cheap. For just $29, beginners can receive professional lessons, equipment rentals and a beginner lift ticket any day during January, excluding the holiday periods (Jan. 1 and 19-21). Limit one beginner package per person. Lesson duration may vary by mountain. 

This deal is valid at the following resorts: 

Bolton Valley - Valid for ages 4 and over

Bromley Mountain Resort - Valid for ages 8 and ove 

Burke Mountain Resort - Valid for ages 7 and over

Mount Snow Resort - Valid for ages 13 and over

Killington Resort and Pico Mountain

Okemo Mountain Resort - Valid for ages 7 and over. Call 802-228 1600 between 8:30 and 4:30 to make a reservation.

Smugglers' Notch Resort - Valid for ages 6 and over 

Stratton Mountain Resort - Valid for ages 13 and over

Stowe Mountain Resort - Email lessons@stowe.com with the, name(s) and age(s) of participant(s) and the date you would like to learn to ski or ride.

Sugarbush Resort - Valid for ages 6 and over

Learning in the beauty of the Green Mountains will have you hooked in no time, so this New Year's, resolve to get yourself or someone you know on the slopes and Vermont will do the rest.
