Six hundred acres at Wyoming's Grand Targhee Resort makes up the cat ski playground on Peaked Mountain — all tucked below the towering Grand Teton. This January, Grand Targhee is offering special rates for cat skiing combined with three or four nights of lodging and lift tickets.

Special rates for snowcat ski and stay packages are available in January and early February, 2013. You can get the packages for three or four nights Jan. 6-17 or Jan. 21-Feb.14.

The three-night snowcat package starts at $397 per person. The package includes three nights of lodging, lift tickets for one day of skiing, and one full day of cat skiing.

The four-night package begins at $471 per person. The package combines one full day of cat skiing with two days of lift tickets and four nights of lodging.

Rates for both the three- and four-night packages are based on quad occupancy in the Targhee Lodge. But you can upgrade to other accommodations.

Grand Targhee books a maximum of 24 cat skiers or riders per day. You’ll average 10-12 runs, each one about 2,000 vertical feet long. The terrain varies from open bowls to chutes and glades. On snowy days, you’ll get powder; on bluebird days, you’ll nab stunning views of the Grand Teton looming to the northeast.

You can make reservations for the snowcat packages by calling 800-TARGHEE or booking online here.
