Shaun White is to host Northstar California Resort’s 40th Birthday Bash on Saturday, December 22, 2012 with activities fit for the whole family. The celebration will include a Burton Snowboard Academy Kids Clinic with Shaun White, live music, a toast, s’mores, 70s costume contest and an après party at Tavern 6330’.

The day will mark exactly 40 years of skiing and riding at Northstar, which has now transformed into one of the top, year-round destination resorts in the country.

The Burton Snowboard Academy Kids Clinic is for kids 7 and up. They will be greeted by White himself during their lesson on Saturday, Dec 22. The lesson includes Burton snowboard rental, all-day coaching and an all-day limited access lift ticket for beginners. Those wanting to participate are asked to sign up in advance.

There will be live music both on the mountain and in The Village. “Forget the Roses” will play from 11 a.m to 2 p.m on the deck of the Lodge at Big Springs located at mid-mountain, and “Mustage Harbor” will play 3-4 p.m and 5-6 p.m on the Village Stage.

Shaun White and Bill Rock, chief operating officer of Northstar, will lead a Sparkling Cider toast at 4 p.m in the Village. A 70s costume contest will follow at 4:15 p.m. A 70s themed après ski party at Tavern 6330’ will feature a special menu and DJ from 4:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m.
