It will be a white Christmas in Colorado and locals and visitors won’t be disappointed. Aspen transforms into a Winter Wonderland, overflowing with holiday festivities. Enjoy ice skating and visits with Santa and his reindeer. Carolers add to the festive atmosphere culminated with a New Year’s Eve fireworks show over Aspen Mountain.
Copper takes it on the snow with a snowcat parade, fireworks, and Woodward at Copper rail jams. Center Village will be alive with bonfires and a rail session.
Santa plans to take some turns throughout the holidays at many Colorado resorts. You’ll find Kris Kringle at A-Basin, Crested Butte, Ski Granby Ranch, Loveland, Powderhorn, Monarch, Ski Cooper, Sunlight, and Wolf Creek.
Steamboat Springs turns into a Winter Wonderland, downtown and on the mountain. Shop on Lincoln Avenue and find the perfect gift for the holidays. The Steamboat Ski & Snowboard School puts on an amazing torchlight parade on New Year’s Eve, followed by fireworks sure to delight. Telluride also hosts a torchlight parade on Christmas Eve.
The Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade is a long-time Winter Park tradition as well. Christmas carolers sing around a bonfire at the base of the resort. It’s followed by the torchlight parade, Santa Claus and a spectacular fireworks display on Dec. 24. Visitors are invited to a Christmas Eve interdenominational service afterwards, at 6 p.m., in the lower level of the Balcony House, with Catholic Church services in the West Portal level four.
