Load up the kids and head to Eldora, if you want them to learn to ski or ride. Eldora Mountain Resort outside of Boulder is offering a last-minute deal to Gems Card purchasers. Kids of any Gems Card holder, aged 4 to 12, can get a first-time lesson. They have to have never skied or boarded before. The cost is $59, instead of $119, and you have to do it before Dec. 21.
“It is for any kid or family who has young ones, who are just ready to start the sport and want to learn to ski or ride. The Eldora Children’s Center is great, and they’ve taught a lot of first-time skiers and snowboarders,” said Eldora’s Marketing Coordinator Tavid Bingham.
It’s a short window to get it done but it could be the perfect thing to get the family ready for time on the snow over Christmas. “Mid-week days are a little less crowded. Get a lesson in here now and then be ready to get out for some more skiing over the school holidays at Christmas,” said Bingham.
Eldora will also take the cost of the $59 lesson and put it towards a kids' session program later in the year. Those programs are the Eldorables or Kids Trek. Mom can also apply it towards a Women’s Day special.
Reservations can be made in advance by calling Eldora. You’ll need a voucher from the Colorado Ski Country USA website (below) along with the Gems card, which can be purchased for $10 also through Colorado Ski Country U.S.A. The voucher can also be presented on your Smartphone. This offer expires Dec. 21.
