What's better than skiing or riding some of the best terrain in the Mid-Atlantic? Skiing it for free. Snowshoe Mountain Resort is hosting a free day of skiing and snowboarding for all residents of the state of West Virginia this Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012. If you happen to live in the "Mountain State" and can provide a state issued ID, utility bill, etc. in order to prove your residence in the state, you can ski Snowshoe for free this Saturday, and then maybe use that leftover cash to enjoy the aprés scene at the 2012 OnTheSnow.com Visitors' Choice for Best Nightlife in the Mid-Atlantic.

Snowshoe Mountain Resort benefitted from early season snow storms and had their earliest opening in ten years. The resort is spinning 7 lifts that provide access to 21 trails, with their Silver Creek area open weekends only until Dec. 14, meaning this Saturday, West Virginians can enjoy Silver Creek for free.

Live in West Virginia and still on the fence about heading to Snowshoe this Saturday? This quick video from opening weekend courtesy of Snowshoe Mountain Resort should help you make up your mind:
