Free bus service is provided to the resort for any child involved in one of the Multi-Week Youth programs. The Powdercats program are for kids ages five to eight and is also $220 for four weeks. The Freeriders program is for kids ages eight to 12 who are ready to ski or ride the entire mountain, and the cost for four weeks is $199. The Mavericks is for teenagers and is also $199 for four weeks.

Equipment can be rented from the Powderhorn Rental Shop for the entire season, too. It’s $99 for the whole season for well-maintained and used equipment, or $129 for new gear.

The Learn to Ski or Ride series is for first-timers ages eight and up. At the end of three lessons, participants receive a free season pass from Powderhorn for the rest of the season. The cost is $299 for adults 18 and older, or $249 for children age eight to 17. It includes lift access, lessons, and rentals.

“Every family in the Grand Valley should have the opportunity to get out and enjoy the amenities in their own back yard. We are here to help make that come to fruition,” said Powderhorn’s Ski & Ride Manager Luke Martin.

Powderhorn has some stocking stuffer ideas, too. The Powderhorn P-Card is a $69 pass that gives cardholders their first day of skiing or riding for free, with any extra day 20 percent off for a single day adult lift ticket. The Powderhorn DECA card is $199. It is a transferable pass that gives passholders a chance to purchase up to ten half-price lift tickets this season.

Powderhorn is in the heart of the Grand Mesa on Colorado’s Western Slope and has 1,600 acres of terrain.
