The new season has brought two new areas for kids and beginners at Arapahoe Basin. There's also a new conveyor belt at the Pika Place Learning Arena, next to the Black Mountain Express at the base.
“It’s a snowsports meeting place, with a beginner trail and conveyor lift, for kids and adults,” said Adrienne Saia Isaac, the Marketing and Communications Manager for A-Basin. “It’s a really great spot for first timers and beginners.”
“I think part of the philosophy behind opening the new learning area is increasing the terrain we have for beginners, and focusing on growing that next generation of skiers and riders,” adds Isaac.
Another new addition this year is the Ace’s Kids Park. It is a beginner level terrain park for people who are just starting out in freestyle skiing and riding. Isaac says it has smaller boxes and rails. “The features are similar to what you’ll find in the High Divide Terrain Park, but on a smaller scale.”
The Ace’s Kids Park will be near the base area, by Pika Place and the Molly Hogan areas. “It’s great because parents can watch their kids from the base area, or the A-Basin “Beach,” and feel all of the action from there,” says Isaac.
It’s the third terrain park for A-Basin. Isaac says it won’t be up and running until mid-December.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, Dec. 22, because Santa will be taking some turns on the slopes of A-Basin.
