Loveland is on the Shred Circuit for the So-Gnar Mighty Midwest Snowboard Camp. It rolls onto the slopes Dec. 1-2. You’ll get a weekend of lessons with the pros and then take on a rail jam to show off your new skills.

“The Shred Circuit is all about having 100 percent fun while snowboarding,” says So-Gnar founder and professional snowboarder Pat Milbery.

Loveland is actually hosting two big events on the same weekend. Theyouth Snowboard Camp is on Saturday and Sunday, while the Shred Circuit is the contest series on Saturday. You can sign up for either one or both.

Duncan Maxwell is the Events & Promotions Coordinator for Loveland. He says the camp targets the younger crowd, kids ages 3 to 14. “Then the Shred Circuit is for all of the kids in the camp, but also for some of the older kids who might want to compete for some swag.” Maxwell says the sponsors will provide the prizes and Evil Burritos from Boulder will be doing the lunch.

“It’s kind of a low-key ride with the pros type of day,” says Maxwell. “There is a cost for the camp of $125 but you get to ride for two days with pros and get almost personalized instruction. A lot of places offer lessons and terrain park instruction, but this is where you can actually get it from a pro you might have seen in a magazine or on TV.”

Maxwell adds that Loveland is pleased to promote safety and progression in the terrain park, teaching kids how to do things the proper way, instead of going out on their own. “You’re getting professional instructions from people who do this for a living.”
