Ring in the holidays with back-to-back traditions this week in Ogden, UT.

All three ski resorts in the Ogden area are slated to kick off the 2012-2013 winter season (conditions permitting) and open on consecutive days beginning Wednesday, Nov. 21. The trifecta of inaugural first chairs begins with Powder Mountain at 9 a.m. and continues with Snowbasin on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Wolf Mountain on Friday, Nov. 23.

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, Ogden wastes no time in getting into the Christmas spirit. The week concludes with Ogden’s annual Electric Light Parade and Christmas Village lighting ceremony, beginning at 5 p.m. along Washington Blvd. The festive parade will fill the street with twinkling lights, whimsical floats and entertaining performers, including the jolly, old man himself. Santa’s arrival marks the official lighting ceremony of the Christmas Village’s cottages and castles.

Beginning on Nov. 26, children can meet Santa Clause inside his North Pole castle, Monday-Friday from 6-9 p.m. and Saturdays 5-9 p.m. through Dec. 23. Photos with Santa are $5. Live entertainment will also perform every Monday through Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the Municipal Gardens’ Amphitheater.

The Christmas Village will be on display every day from 5 p.m. to midnight through the first week of Jan. For more information on the Electric Light Parade and Christmas Village lighting ceremony, click here.
