Minnesota’s Powder Ridge ski area, which opened the week before Thanksgiving, is already encouraging its guests to stretch out their weekends and stick around a bit on Sundays with a great deal.

From now through the end of the season, everyone can ski and ride on Sundays for the child rate of just $29 per person, 20 percent off the normal adult lift ticket rate of $36.

And with 100 percent snowmaking on its 14 runs and 300 feet of vertical, that’s a lot of fun for a little cash. Located about an hour northwest of the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburbs, Powder Ridge's deals don’t stop there.

Head up for some night skiing and boarding, and between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sundays and Wednesdays, hit the slopes for just $15 per person, and get rentals for the same price, 32 percent off the normal fare.

You say it’s your birthday? There are more deals waiting. Head to the tubing park, where you can ride for two hours, head in with your buds for some pizza and soda in a private party area, and where the guest of honor gets a gift provided by Powder Ridge, as well as a prize pack for each guest. The price? Just $19 per person, with a minimum of six, aged 4 to 15.
