Steamboat is ready for the season. Folks at the resort are ready for you to come and celebrate the snow and fun. Pick up the Boat Launch Pass and try the early season snow, legendary tree skiing, and freestyle terrain.
“It’s always exciting when snow covers the mountain especially this early in the season and we crank up our snow guns for the first time,” said Doug Allen, Vice President of Mountain Operations for the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation.
The high-efficiency, low-energy tower guns and air/water guns are building up the base area and Heavenly Daze run, covering nearly 300 acres of top-to-bottom terrain, to get ready for a Thanksgiving Day oopening.
Steamboat is confident and is offering a special early season pass. The Boat Launch Pass is good for any three days from Steamboat’s opening day through Dec. 14. The cost is $119. The pass has to be ordered at least 24 hours in advance and it is non-refundable. Also, there is only one pass allowed per person, and you have to pick it up yourself at the Main Ticket Office in Gondola Square. Bring a photo I.D.
Special fares and direct flights are being offered directly into Steamboat from eight major U.S. airports. Fares must be booked by Nov. 30, and they are valid for travel from Dec. 13 through April 1. Bookings must be done through Steamboat Central Reservations at 1-800-922-2722.
“With several snow storms already falling across Colorado combined with amazing vacation packages and now, airfare specials, it’s shaping up to be a winter snow season you don’t want to miss,” said Rob Perlman, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. “With so much going on in the world today, it’s never been more important to reconnect, rejuvenate and reinvigorate with your family and friends and there’s no better place than Steamboat.”
Steamboat officially opens Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22. You can ski and ride the day before, too, for Scholarship Day at the mountain, benefitting the local Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club.
