Alta Ski Area has been around for a while. Seventy-five powder-filled ski seasons, to be exact. In that time, little has changed at this ski-only resort, which means long-standing traditions and memories have had some time to ferment over the years. But now it’s time to crack open a celebration bottle and toast to this historic resort.
In honor of its diamond jubilee ski season, Alta is raising a glass to their newly released beer label, crafted with help from Wasatch Beers in Salt Lake City. The Alta 75th Anniversary Ale is an original, dry-hopped pale ale that’s loaded with caramel and pale malts for an inviting beverage that’s made especially for quaffing during apres hour. Pine, floral and a touch of citrus flavors are blended for a deep and complex taste, much like Alta’s own history. But unlike its ski-only prestige, you don’t have to be a skier to enjoy it.
The 75th Anniversary Ale has a 4.0% ABV content, and an IBU “hoppiness” rating of 35 (out of 100).
Imbibe in your share of Alta’s 75th Anniversary Ale at Squatters and Wasatch pubs or pick up a six-pack at a limited number of restaurants, grocery stores and convenience stores surrounding Little and Big Cottonwood Canyons.
